Vila do Cinema was born from a singular belief: that cinema can be a force for justice, empathy, and change. Founded in Lisbon by filmmaker Sohel Rahman, the production house bridges artistic vision with global advocacy.

Award-winning filmmaker and the creative force behind Vila do Cinema. Sohel Rahman’s documentaries have screened at Yale, UCLA, and the British Museum, earning international recognition for their artistic depth and social impact. Beyond filmmaking, he leads masterclasses across multiple countries on cinematic storytelling, ethical filmmaking, and the craft of independent production.
